Rhodes Island Greece.

Rhodes Island in Greece, with its 300 days blue sky throughout the year, is the popular holiday destination and is more prone to attract visitors. Hence, round the year there are demands for booking accommodation and lodging in the place.

The best time to visit the Dodecanese Islands are in the late spring, early summer and autumn. Winter is pretty much a dead loss with the exception of Rhodes and other big cities like Afandou where winter tourism is becoming quite popular and there is still a fair amount of activity to keep you busy. Most of the remaining tourist infrastructure goes into hibernation from November until the beggining of April - hotels and restaurants are closed and bus and ferry services are either drastically reduced or cancelled alltogether.

The cobwebs are dusted off just in time for Easter, when the first tourists start to arrive. Conditions are usually perfect between Easter and mid-June, when the weather is pleasantly warm throughout the islands, but not too hot; beaches and ancient sites are relatively uncrowded; public transport operates on close to full schedules; and accommodation is cheaper and much easier to find.

Mid-June until the end of August is the High season. It's party time on the islands and everything is in full swing. It's also very hot - in July and August the mercury can soar to 40C in the shade. The beaches are crowded, the ancient sites are swarming with tour groups, and in many places accommodation is booked solid.

The season starts to wind down in September, and conditions are ideal once more until end of October.

The island of Rhodes has a very rich and varied architecture composed by various architectural styles of Greece, blended together in complete harmony. There are many reasons why Rhodes is one of the most popular resorts in the Mediterranean: the natural surroundings (crystal clear seas, many parks and recreational facilities), the bright sun and the warm hospitality of the islanders themselves. You can find the wild nightlife almost in every bar on the island. Rhodes (Rhodos or Rodos in Greek), lies between Crete and the near East in the Aegean ocean. Rhodes is the biggest of the Dodecanese islands. Named the sun island or island of light there are hardly any days when the sun doesn't shine.

With practically zero crime rate and friendly and hospitable people you'll be surprised how easy life in Rhodes can be.

Rock climbing in Rodos Greece. The island well known as a top windsurfing spot in Europe, recently obtained two rock climbing sections which gradually are enriched with new routes.

Easter is one of best motives to be in Rhodes for a couple of reasons. First of all even if you are not a devout Christian you can't help but be moved by the ceremonies and the way life begins again on Easter Sunday after winter and 40 days of fasting. In Rhodes wildflowers are in bloom and the hillsides that are usually parched brown in the summer are green from the winter rains. You can't even imagine the fields of flowers and the way life seems to be popping and sprouting up from every crack and crevice. People take walks in the streets and parks which are also adorned with green grass and wildflowers.
